Class Notes from Lesson 1-11 Constitutional

 Lesson 1-11: The Nervous System

Central Nervous System is brain an spinal chord. Peripheral is everything else - sensory and motor. Afferent nerve signals run (from skin, etc) to the brain. Efferent nerve signals run from your brain. Efferent can be somatic or autonomic... voluntary or involuntary. Since we can't see the white board or the handouts, I looked up diagrams - links posted. He talks about how spinal nerves come out from between the vertebrae. http://thespineclinic.com/spinal-nerve-chart/ Dermatome is an area of the skin that go to one specific vertebral nerve. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatome_(anatomy) Interesting discussion of referred pain in relation to pleurisy. Cranial nerves https://www.healthline.com/health/12-cranial-nerves

Someone seems to have bad allergies or a head cold in this one... seems like a missed opportunity to put some herbs in action. The teacher wanders off camera for the last few minutes either passing out handouts or going to the renaissance fair for another shirt....
