Class Notes from Lesson 7-11 Constitutional

 Lesson 7-11: Adaptogens 10, Maca

Lepidium, Pepper grass. Marketed as libido enhancing and anabolic. This one was popular in the vitamin/herb store when I worked there. Lessens adrenaline exhaustion. Improves synthesis of protein and phospho-lipids. Stimulates ability to recover form stress and rebuild injured tissues. Slightly stimulates thyroid in diffeicinecy. Aids protein metabolism in liver, mildly hepato-protective. Increases nitrogen metabolism. Mildly hypoglycemic without reactivity. Mood elevator. "feels like missing nutrient"... makes you feel better. GI stimulant for assimilation. Helps with general exhaustion and slow rebound. Metabolic tonic. Specifically simulative to the testicles. Must be grown at very high elevation, like 14,000 ft. up.
