Class Notes from Lesson 7-9 Constitutional

 Lesson 7-9: Adaptogens 8, Ganoderma

Rishi mushrooms. Seemingly the entire family grows all over the place where I live - Chinese herbalists go nuts when they see "the herb of immortality/spiritual potency" growing commonly on trees! Fairly easy mushroom to grow. MM says there are two species of ganoderma - actually, there are several.... I mean, like several dozen! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganoderma

Peter McCoy, author of Radical Mycology, recommends using water kefir for extracting the medicinal qualities of mushrooms. You put the mushrooms in with the new batch and let it ferment together.

Gonoderma diminishes stress from anabolic overload. No effect on thyroid. Strong liver protective. Lessons oxidative stress and radical scavenging. Stimulates immunity but also modifies effects of hyper-immunity. Mildly hypoglycemic but doesn't trigger insulin re-bound. Good for auto-toxic agitation. "Soothes hyper-brain" - detox. Good for leaky gut. Useful for allergies, auto-immune flare ups and cancer.
