Materia Medica Lesson 8-5: Latuca, Lettuce

So... I'm with MM on this one that when I tried Wild Lettuce, it did absolutely nothing. But, that was after my back injury, when I had been on all sorts of narcotic pain meds and had a tolerance like an elephant. He puts California Poppy in the same category.... they may be a slight opiate like plant for some people. I'm still looking for a way to make it effective. So far, nothing I've read has lived up to the hype. But then... I have to be like hit by a truck to even dull pain or make me sleepy. He said the dried leaves can be good for coughs. May be good for a tea given to children as sedative.

LACTUCA (Wild Lettuce) HERB. Standard Infusion as needed. LATEX (Lactucarium), Tincture [1:2, 95% alcohol], 1/2 to 1 teaspoon. STATUS : W/A
