Leaves are dried and powdered as teal for mucus membrane ulcerations - labial, mouthwash, etc... good baby powder. Powder can be used on cold sores. Good for acid indigestion. Strong tea or percolation can be used for ulcerated sinuses. Tea of berries good for esophageal ulcers, acid reflux, etc. Soothing, astringent, cooling, stimulates cell regeneration. Root and seed powder good for skin blisters. Tea from dried or fresh leaves and berries are good for heat exhaustion as cooled tea. Berries also used as spice in cooking for tartness.
