 Lesson 7-5: Adaptogens 4, Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica/Indian Pennywort. Small, ground-hugging plant. From India. Grows on the the Texas gulf coast - Padre Island to Galveston. Plant likes salty swamps. Also called hydrocotyle asiatica. Also marketed as gotu kola.

Improves the synthesis of skin and connective tissue - helps organize proteins. Best adaptogen for stress induced thyroid depression. Symptom of low thyroid function is cool, clammy, rubbery, waxy, delicate skin. Lessons structural damage to diseased liver. Lessons free radical oxidation under stress. Increases visual acuity and taste. Helps peripheral circulation. Helps with varicose veins.
