Class Notes from Lesson 9-8 Constitutional

 Lesson 9-8: Salve Making

He says the formula is on "page 27", but doesn't say page 27 of what.. I've yet to find it.

1 part herb, half part alcohol,

4 oz ground Arnica.

2 oz ethanol alcohol

mix well, let sit for a couple of hours, covered.

Put in blender

Our in olive oil

Blend... sounds like the "liquify/high" setting. Keep pausing to scrape/stir it all down.

Keep adding olive oil until you get to 7 parts oil.

Doc Jones says that you blend it until the carafe gets warm. I'd estimate MM blends for 10 min.... skip this part; it is loud and all you are doing is watching a blender. and hearing people giggle.... they giggle A LOT!! I think MM said something about warmth, but who can hear over a blender?

Then, he strains the mixture through a wire mesh strainer lined with a cheese cloth. Squeeze all the oil out.

Then he puts it in a pot with bees wax - one part wax to 5 parts oil. Heat slowly on low heat. Stir occasionally until wax melts, it bubbles and everything comes together. Dribble some on a cool metal or glass bowl t see if it sets up. If not, add more wax.

Pour into containers while hot, and let cool
