Materia Medica Lesson 2-10: Ailanthus, Quassia and other Simarubaceae

Ailanthus is anti-protozoal, anti-parasitic. Introduced by Chinese immigrants to treat diarrhea. The plant exudes a substance that makes people tired when harvesting - really knocks some people out. A wash using the bark is ant-viral. May help with mild epilepsy - verbena is more reliable. All of the below kills organisms in the gut, from protozoa to worms.
