Materia Medica Lesson 2-9: Agrimonia, Geum, Rubus and other Rosaceae astringents

The "YARFAs", Yet Another Rose Family Astringent. All of the following can be used the same way - all rose family astringents.

Use agrimony foliage and above ground plants as an astringent. Make a tea and use topically. Causes tissues to contract. No need to harvest root. Good for sore throat, gastro intestinal irritability, slow resolving menses, uterine heaviness. Can be used as eye wash. Good for heat headaches and heat stroke - mash fresh leaves with water and apply to forehead.

He also goes into Alchimilla/Lady's Mantle, but I don't see it mentioned in the notes - he says it can be substituted for raspberry, agrimony and avens. Can also be used to help break a fever.
