Meteria Medica Lesson 1-2: Acalypha, Yerba del Cancer or Copper leaf

Lots of varieties. Acalypha hispida is easily cultivated and most common. Ostreafolia grows in eastern orchards.

Speeds up cell replication when applied topically. It helps get rid of dead/damaged cells and stimulates production of new cells. Useful for sores that wont heal - cankers, not cancer. Also good for dysentery and traveler's diarrhea. Tea or enema heals lesions in intestines. People with "G6PD" genetic disorder (a symptom is not being able to eat fava beans, another is being resistance to malaria), causes a hemophilic anemia reaction.

Acalypha californica, A. lindheimeri, Yerba del Cancer, Copperleaf Herb as tea for topical and intestinal use, salve
