Materia Medica Lesson 10-1: Piscidia, Jamaican Dogwood

 Jamaican Dogwood is primarily used for diminishing referred pain. It is somewhat similar to an opiate for certain people - doesn't work for everyone.. like only 50% of people. Central Nervous System sedative. The bark is used. Don't combine with opiates.

PISCIDIA (Jamaica Dogwood, Jabin) TREE and ROOT BARK. Tincture [1:5, 60% alcohol] 10-90 drops. USE WITH CARE. Response is highly individual, so start with a low dose. STATUS : W/LA

PISCIDIA 

Insomnia with spasms, pain, nervous irritability, tachycardia. Cervical neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia. Cholangitis, general antispasmodic.
