Class Notes from Lesson 2-3 Constitutional

Lesson 2-3 Constitutional Model Basic Philosophy

This is a LONG one! An hour and a half.

Start with primary physiologic function of organ systems. Herbs affect absorption, metabolism, fluid transport and excretion. Herbs are rarely nutritive. Herbs alter function. Oregon Grape/berberine, for instance, stimulates liver function by mildly irritating the liver.

We need to eat plants for sugar. Medicinal plants trigger reactivity - irritant, simulant, sedative. Discussion of how toxins are bred out of most modern vegetables.

Straight tincture gets into blood stream faster than teas.

Excretion. Herbs not digested like food.

Herbs used to strengthen function to avoid impairment of structure. The goal is balance. When one system is out of balance/stressed, it affects other systems. People have specific natures... illness comes when out of balance.

When the body stimulates one system, it takes from another - blood, hormones, secretions....

If someone has hypertonic muscles by nature, muscle relaxants don't' work after a while - tolerance develops. IF the body accommodates to a need by increasing blood pressure, it will fight meds that lower blood pressure. Underlying cause must be addressed. No study has ever shown that lowering blood pressure or cholesterol prolongs life.

Shout it from the roof tops, again... as I have stated in the past, as Weston A Price and any honest organization have repeatedly stated, THERE IS NO CAUSAL CORELATION BETWEEN HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND CARDIAC DISEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our entire healthcare system has become based on this dangerous myth due to falsified research and mistaken conclusions. Natural animal fats are good for you!!!!!!!!!!!! Until doctors admit this, I'll avoid doctors.

He then goes into the dangers of hormone replacement therapy, birth control pills, etc. VERY dangerous stuff, but no one will admit it due to politics. Got fibroid cysts? Have a hysterectomy. Sad,? Take anti-depressants. Stressed? Take blood pressure meds. Can't sleep? Take sleep meds. In pain? Take opioids. ... etc, etc. Never mind that maybe the stressed person needs some rest... the sad person needs love or the depressed person needs a worthwhile pursuit...

"Differential Diagnostics"... now, there is a novel concept.... considering the "patient" as an individual with unique hereditary and lifestyle factors.... nope, our med schools won't accept that.... people are numbers and prescription is an algebraic equation... destroy anyone who says otherwise... never mind that "medical error" is now a leading cause of death in America.... "all in all you're just another brick in the wall... and you can't have your pudding until you eat your meat."

HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He says that Hank Williams died due to drinking. He did not. He had spina bifida. He died from a combination of alcohol, opiates, barbiturates and chloral hydrate. He was in constant, unbearable pain and took pills and injections in heroic amounts. I generally have a strong urge to punch n the mouth anyone who dismisses Hank Williams, Sr as "just a drunk". He was the Shakespeare of the common man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WXYjm74WFI or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19vApPwWqh8 No one and nothing could stop his pain. We are truly blessed to have had his genius to color our world, ever so briefly.

He does make a good point about not imposing vegan, vegetarian, etc diets on people.

Anyway....
