Glycyrrhizic acid is a cortisone and aldosterone like steroid mimicker. Good long term treatment for chronic stomach ulcers. Helps with inflammation of stomach, gut and lungs. Not good for anabolic types due to sodium retention. Good for kidney deficiency. Don't combine with steroid treatments. American Licorice is lower in glycyrrhizic acid and doesn't have the hypertensive potential of European and Chinese varieties.
